I need some advice on what brand of muffler makes the best exhast note on an LT1. (brand/series) Was leaning towards Flowmaster, but not positive yet. Already have headers and 3in. Opinions needed.

I'm going to come out against the flowmaster. I have a 40 series that I put on last year, and it's already rusting a lot. It didn't bolt right up either. Sounds nice though.

Borla sounds real good, umm...other popular ones are Hooker, magnaflow and SLP LM. Corsa and gmmg are hard to find and expensive

What is the difference in, lets say, 40 series and 80 series mufflers? Different pitch, performace, or spec? What do you prefer?

i think the 80 is the same as a 40 but its a crossflow like the stock muffler

I have looked into a flowmaster catback for my car(minus the cat) I will be getting the kit #17233, American thunder kit with an 80 series muffler.
