Anyone know of a good shop or person in the detroit area that does exhaust work? I need a cutout welded in. Thanks

Me and Jon have had an unbeatable experience with Doug's Muffler on gratiot. Theyve done everything we have wanted so far, and unlike other shops - they dont give you any BS. when they see nice cars pull up they usually come running out past all the other beaters and wave you right in, and if not the owner will know who you are when you point to your car. they are usually excited to do the "special" work other shops freak out about. He has an awesome business going there. Theyre cheap too, i have tipped the guys every time because they let you stand under the car and everything.

I wouldve had a lot more headaches without them around. Its really run like an exhaust shop should be run, not how the law wants it run.

not sure. they are just south of where Gratiot splits into Northbound and Southbound on the northbound side by the railroad tracks.

as a third option you could have "Wear Master" at 13 and Rochester do it. They did my set-up. they were cheap and fast.

I just had my mechanic do it - he does most of my other work.

There is a guy in town that claims he has been doing exhaust work for 20+ years. I went to him to redo some piping for me on my Flowmaster exhaust and he did a pretty clean job but I had to go back because one of welds had an exhaust leak. He's a total dope for claiming he has 20+ years experience.

Depending on where you live "Doug's" is the place to go. The owner has been slinging custom exhaust for 20+ years (and thats no BS) that store has been there almost 15 yrs, and they will do exactly what you want done, no questions asked. They did 2 of my Mustangs and they both turned out really nice, had 1 issue that they rectified without any grief!!
