  • LS6 intake swap and LTs = loss of low end power?

was just wondering if im correct thinking that ive lost some low end torque because of the swap and headers. im sure it could be tuned, but would i need a full blown dyno tune to get my low end back?? I seem to have gained on the top end, which would make sense with the low end loss. any advice is greatly appreciated.

its normal to lose some down low grunt with LTs. I lost a bit with mine, but the gain up top was much greater. backpressure converts HP to TQ it seems. when i open my cutout i lose torque down low and gain HP up top. probably the same principle. however, down low torque loss should be minimal. 10wtq or less.

top end really got better, but low end, with the new tires also, just seems like it lost a bit. i have to try a little harder to break loose, lol.

tune as in dyno tune or is this something someone could do with a hand held? dont have the cash for dyno tune and im also planning on installing a cam and stall this winter so id like to wait until next spring for a dyno tune.

changing up the rear end gears would help bring that "low end" feel back...

3.23s to 3.73s is the best i could do as its a daily driver and i drive about an hour to and from work. not sure if it would make that much of a difference but you would probably know more then me.

You'd only want 3.73's if you're going to do a cam anyways with an auto. 4.10's are overkill for an auto and I really think they're too much for a 6 speed unless you're stock. You throw a cam and/or heads on and you redline in 4th before the traps at the dragstrip.

I have never redlined my car at the track with my cam and 4:10's, and i have ran 116 in the trap b4
