Headlight bulb replacement

Had a headlight bulb (9005) low beam go out and was thinking of upgrading. Anybody have any insight about what works and what doesn't? Not going the HID route, just replacement bulbs.

When in doubt, Whip it out !

Phillips crystal vision ultra bulbs are nice. Put them in my 08 Silverado. Huge improvement over stock and at $20 a pair from Amazon they're all around hard to beat.
