The PCM in this car is from Pcm4less it's not mine only had it in for maybe 25 miles could the Ecm code have been from the previous car? Also I still have my stock untuned PCM could I swap them back out? Also I bought 02 sensors hope that was the problemOriginally posted by zeeman View Posthave your ecm checked. Make sure your opti harness is plugged in and connections are good and clean. Something is a little bonkers, low voltage @ the fuel pump but, voltage overcharge condition. The worrisome one is the 55, ecm error. theyre pricey. clear the codes and retry it.

maybe try pulling the plug wires one at a time to help find out which hole isnt firing? When in doubt, Whip it out !

Seems to have spark. Also I drove it today and in OD it hesitates at 4,000 rpm but if I shift it it runs through 4,000 no problem I have no clue what's going on. Sometimes it idles really rough others not that bad. But I noticed at a constant rpm it sounds like it cuts out.Originally posted by zeeman View PostWell?

So what was the reason for changing the pcm? Tune for the converter? Do you still have the stock one you can swap back in?
You changed a lot of things at once, we need to eliminate a few things on that list.
Another thing to check is your battery straps and grounds. A bad ground on these cars can really screw things up. My car was stuck at a buddies house for a week not wanting to start/running like crap over a coincidental ground issue one time. I thought i had fried my PCM because i had been tinkering with it, but after getting another out of a junkyard i found it wasnt the problem. The ground block on the top of the fender can be a source of problems.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; May 4th, 2015, 07:43 AM.-Joel

Yeah it was tuned for the mods including the converter. I do have the stock PCM still I was thinking about putting it back in to see if it clears up. Will the car run fine with the converter and a stock tune? Also when I burnt the plug wire it was a stock wire, I then changed all the wires on the passenger side to the MSD wires and it has not ran right since.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostSo what was the reason for changing the pcm? People will disagree with me but i had nothing but problems with aftermarket wires. Had both taylors and msds, and my car ran like garbage with both of them. Took me 2 years to figure it out because in both cases i was convinced wires couldnt be the problem. Its not that i dont think MSD or taylor makes a good product, but my experience has shown me our ignition system is uniquely fussy and doesnt like to be tinkered with. Seems like if you change the wires, or the coil, or whatever else you disturb the balance of the overall system GM apparently was able to achieve. Right now the only thing thats changed from factory on my car is the heat range of the plugs for my additional compression. Everything else is GM spec and Ive had no problems for 7 years now. Car is cammed shifting at 6300 and its been drag raced, auto-x'd, and road raced (continual high rpm).
You might try buying a set of delco wires with a return policy... If they dont solve your problem take them back. They are an expensive wire set, but beats having a car that runs like crap.-Joel
