  • someone take me to hid school please

ok so I have 2 car I would like to do this to. by my main worry is my 1987 buick regal. im only doing this for better night drive and not for the looks. bare with me for some reason my enter key don't work on mifody only. weird. I have a 4 headlight system when on high beam all 4 come on when on low beam on the 2 outer lights come on. I would like to go with hid for at least the low beams and would love to high hid in low and high beams. my head light are 165mm x 105mm or 4" x 6". what would be my best rout of doing this. im open minded and open to all suggestions, so feel free to voice your opinion. the only thing im looking to do is blast the road with light and don't have a big worry as to on coming traffic because I live in the country. I would love 4300k- 5000k hid system

well im assuiming your regal has sealed beam headlamps. so the only way ive heard of putting HIDs in a sealed beam without buying the conversion kit is just to take dremel to the back of the housing and cut out the filament, then shape the hole to fit whatever bulb style you would like, silicone the HID bulb into the housing and then continue on with normal HID installation.

Or like i said you can get the sealed beam conversion kit that pretty much does that for you but much neater.

also i know DDM can send you a relay that allows you to have both hi beam and low beam HIDS

I don't mind finding new lenses as a matter of fact I found some hella e-code conversion lenses that except h4 bulbs that I think im going to pick-up. these headlight that are factory just don't cut and it problbly because im spoiled my my charger head lights. lol. I mainly don't understand picking out a setup for what I want. who is DDM this is the 3rd time I have heard about them I think I should give them a call.

then youre 80% there. swap your sealed beams for the hella ones and then http://ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HI...ast-35W-or-55W fill that out for the H4 bulb (with the hi-lo kit) and youll have your HIDS!

Re: someone take me to hid school please

Ddm tuning sells the conversion lights. They say they have a very fine cutoff line so blinding oncoming traffic shouldnt be a problem.

Post pics when your done! Im thinking about the same swap for my 78 impala.

nobody has ever flashed me. My buddy texts me some mornings though if i happen to find him on 75 saying that he's blind. But after driving my truck he ordered Hids for his and his Gf's cars lol
HID low and HID driving/fog lights. might get highs also. not that it needs them but...

Only bad thing with a system like yours is HIDs don't like being turned on and off all the time. Thats why factory setups just move a shield for low to high. If I were you I would just do lows

Agreed, if you need more light. Then add fogs.
But the 3000k-5000k are the brightest of the color scale. So I think you'll be pleased with your light output.

With the way I've got my foglights aimed with 3000k HIDS. I almost don't need headlights lol.

I will do some sort of how to deal with it and put it in my sponsor area. this will work the same way for 3rd gen Camaro's. and I will place before and after pic to help everyone.

I have a few friend with them and I have rode with them and I have drove twards them. if people don't cheap out and build a quality system the cutoff line is pretty sharp. just being kind im going to look into projectors but im pretty sure I wont be going with because I hate the look of them. I will problebly by the hella e-code which are held to European standards which are pretty high.

I will try looking there im not really a ebay guy so im not very good or patient at searching the site. I hate typing something in the search then I get a ton of stuff that don't have anything in common with my search request, lol.

if the lights are as bright as I think they will be I imagine I will be running low beam 99% of the time. but thankyou for that post because I had not thaught of that.

problem is I hate the look of fog lights on this body style. in my eyes there are few cars that look good with them. but a 4th gen firebird/trans am or a dodge charger pulls the look off nicely.
