Go to Rielleys or auto zone they can test both of them in the car.

      Yup.

Oh, and just in case you didn't think of it - make sure you use the purge valve on the fuel gauge after you're done - otherwise you'll make a nice mess when the fuel sprays out of the schrader after you remove it

The alternator is getting replaced soon anyway. i would replace it sooner if i find out its causing my fuel issue.
BTW: the car drove perfect today.

I don't think you have a fuel pump problem, I think your problem is the alt or battery. thats why your pump is sounding like it runs slow the battery is drained.

well, the battery looks fairly new. and other than the bearing in the alt clicking the gauge tells me its charging the battery. but where the should the gauge be? ill post a picture later.

Imagine it as your gas gauge, should be at 3/4

The gauge is horidly inaccurate, its WAY past 13v(closer to 15 if I had to guess) on my car, but the car is actually at 13.8

Get a multimeter. Put it on the battery. Battery will read slightly over 12v by itself. Charging it will read 13 to 14. Or use an Amp clamp around the alternator wire and it will tell you if the alternator is putting out amps.

Thats where it normally stays but when it surges for power at idle it drops about a needle.
I found i have the biggest problem with it wanting to die when hitting the gas really quick and then going back to normal driving.

                    Check grounds on the car.

The alt. grounds specifically? or the battery grounds?

Heres an update: I did finally take her to autozone and let them have their way with her. the end result is my battery is perfect and my alternator shows no signs of weakness or problems.

P.S i havent had any issues driving since..
