  • Toggle switch help - electric fan

I know this is very easy with the right tools. However, I have 2 test lights and a volt meter. All of which are MIA from the barn. I am trying to wire in a toggle, separate LED to my electric fan. The toggle I picked up is a 2-way 4-pin. I'm planning going straight from 12+ to switch, switch to power of fan, fan direct to ground, and ground from - of LED socket to ground in dash. Pins look like this on the switch...
    1-4
    2-5
    3-6

Positions 1 and 4 do not have pins.

Where am I going to hook up my + from bat, + from switch to fan +, and + to LED socket +? I don't need to ground the switch, do I?

I would put a relay in between the switch and the fan, that way the (direct) power isnt going through the switch to the fan.

are you using an inline fuse?
do you want the led to only come on when the fan is in use ?

If you don't use a relay the switch will probably burn up from the load of the fans.
