Why would you disable the vats, avoid an insurance premium discount, and risk loosing your car to a thief?
Part of my BCM is fried and the car won't start without it being bypassed or disabled.

I'm willing to bet that VATS system is more of a liability to him than either of those combined when it sporadically fails as they all do and costs him $500 to tow it home plus the time and cost of finding parts to get it fixed.

          Easier said then done.

Find a working BCM with the correct code for my PCM. Not cheap, not easy to find, not easy to replace.

I dont see what the deal with disabling is. Any thief can get past VATS with out problem, takes 5 min or less. I still have door locks, and the key to "secure" my car.

i agree. i'd go with a wideband. i have one in my car and i love it. even if it wasnt boosted, i'd still like to have it. just one more nice piece of mind that your engine is running right. and if you have 6spd, get skip shift eliminated too. i had tj at baker do that when he tuned my car and i love it. the light doesnt even come on on the dash
