I've run interstates as long as I've been driving, though I've only had to buy a few. I trust them. They aren't an engine bay beautification, but beauty won't count when you turn the key and it doesn't run.

When I worked at FEV, they used Optima (Red Tops, I think) in the engine test cells.

I run a AC Delco in my Cobalt (cause I don't have a need for a new battery) and had one in my Camaro as well.

My dad's stock Ford battery just died this past winter, when it was VERY cold out (and seeing as how the alternator died two weeks ago, it probably could've lasted longer) - his truck is a '98...

Just for the record, I have an Optima yellow top and I've left my lights on for over an hour and it still starts right up. No probs with it yet.

The Optima Yellow top has a back up on it so she don't totally discharge it's self.

Put one in Red's car, very happy with it.
And I have the Red top and have had it for 4yrs with no issues

Agreed! My Optima Yellow Top has never died. When I sold the Camaro it just sat for three months, popped it in the T/A and the car fired right up!

yellow top is a deep cycle thats why it still fired up. Its made to be discharged. That is why there not fit for regular cars. You are ruining it by not discharging it. Unlike regular car batteries when you discharge it fully and recharge it you will actualy have more capacity then you did before. Regular batteries the first time you let it die the life is reduced to 75%.

I've always had good performance with AC Delco batteries, and now have two Optima red tops, one in the daily driver (Trail Blazer) and one in the '74 Z28. (It only gets started every couple of weeks). Both have been trouble free.

Had very bad luck with Optima red top, and suprisingly good luck with a "higher" grade Meijer battery (1000 CCA). Currently have a yellow top Duralast that has been treating me good for two years, so it really hasn't stood the test of time yet. Never really had any experiences with Delco batteries.

Had bad luck with the Red Top Optima. I removed the battery from the car and stored the battery the basement for the winter.
I used a battery tender on it during the winter.
That spring it would not turn over the starter on the car. Took it back for a replacement. I would not buy another one!
