  • Who do you recommend for tuning

Just like the title. Who do you recommend? I might need a open loop tune but could probably do a closed loop.

Go talk to Rich and Billy at Motor City Speed http://www.motorcityspeedonline.com

Huge difference between the 2 when you talk to each of them on the phone.

Phil tuned my car and truck and I don't think I could be paid to go anywhere else. I sent him my PCM for my car for a base tune and the car ran better than some other tuners dyno tunes.

Yea I was at Phil's today. Basically he was giving me the hint that my setup is going to take quite a bit of tinkering and told me to bring it back and now just replied he has a 3 week wait time... Soo I got the hint he doesn't want to mess with it anymore.

Guy is busy. I had to wait for my tune and it was well worth it.

Yea I understand that. I made a appointment with him for today(waited 1 week and a half), he messed with it a few hours got it idling and said he's calling quits because one of my 02's was not responding. And told me to email him for the next appointment. Emailed him later today he responded that the next two weeks are full and doesn't even know what's going on in the 3rd.

Please Dont take take this as a bash post because I'm not bashing anyone.

well you started with Phil, might as well finish with him. How much did he charge you for a couple hrs that he did work on it ?

Customer service goes a long way. If its something mechanical stopping him from finishing a tune, then thats on you. If it wasn't for an O2 sensor would he have finished your tune that day ?

Phil doesn't fix cars, he tunes them. I had to bring mine back 3 times before I had fixed the vacuum leak correctly. He never charged me until the tune was complete. I assume he did the same here.

same here. brought mine to him a total of 3 times before it was right. your not paying him to fix the car, your paying him to tune. end of story. the guy is one of thre best factory pcm tuners you will find hand downs in michigan.

oh and i brought mine from the other side of the state to him, on a trailer behind my truck. my first tune that made the car driveable. cost me just under a grand. was it worth it. yep absolutely.

Not 100% if it would of been done today, he explained that he did one before similar and it was a pain in the ass for it to work.

was the check engine light on when you took it to him. I know he doesn't fix cars.
