For that price you can have a rebuild that will hold over 1000ft lbs, if you do it yourself that is.

make sure you set you end play correctly, need to do this when you replace or just remove and reinstall your main shaft

TJ neither of those kits include gears - depending how long it's been driven around they could be fubar.

If you want to wait a 6-8 weeks call Liberty Gears, if you need quicker turn around call RPM transmission

Yeah, I needed a few gears in mine and they run up the price pretty quick. Gears were $150-175 each when I went through this last year. Between that and the fact I needed a new mainshaft I was quoted over $1500 just for a stock rebuild on mine. Upgrades seemed cheap after that point, lol.

Liberty has a $275 flat labor rate. To me it was worth that money to have a professional do it. I've heard good things about RPM too. I wasn't in a hurry so I just waited for Liberty since they're only 25 minutes away.

Mine needed all but 4th and 6th - it was $1900, I should have had it faceplated.....

Not many people have the knowledge, or the equipment to rebuild these themselves.

what year is it? 99-00? 98 had steel 3-4 fork . 99-00 had alum and it would bend. if you stopped driving immediatley it would save the gears. the gears dont wear the blocker surface(syncro ) does. 4th is the input shaft.
probably need 3rd and 4th, slider, fork, shift pads, blocker rings, those rebuild kits dont include most items.\
They arent all that hard to build.

Sounded like he needed 4 gears? They add up quick.

Mine from Liberty was $1,900 for 3 gears replaced, viper main shaft, billet this, polished that, basically everything short of faceplating. It's not cheap, but yeah it was only a few hundred more than what mine needed for a stock rebuild so why not.

It obviously could be much cheaper if your trans started off in better shape. Mine was a 93 and had 170k on it.

4th and 6th were the only gears they could save in mine. Even reverse was fubar'd.

I would have went with liberty but do to time frame RPM took care of it. RPM is a bunch of cool guys anyways.
