Oil pan gasket replacement

Just removed the timing cover and off came part of the oil pan gasket with it. What is the easiest way to go about lowering the pan while the car is in ramps. I live in shelby twp, and if anyone could give me a hand I'd greatly appreciate it. ( and compensate beer, smokes, ammo, cash etc ) thanks guys ~Bugz~

Have a cherry picker? Easiest way is to remove the motor mount bolts, lift the motor up a couple inches and support it under the mounts with something sturdy. I used 2x4's.

There was plenty of room in my 93 caprice to do it that way

Nope no cherry picker, this sucks I've been trying to get this damn thing up and running for two weeks and I'm getting tired of it, one fruggn thing after another, first a bad timing gasket, stubborn balances and crank hub, now this

does your car have a strut brace between strut towers? If you do then your choice would be to strap front of engine to brace, put car on jack stands and lower kframe several inches. You'll need to disconnect motor mounts, brake lines, and power stering lines to rack to be safe so you dont break or tear them.
