Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Hmmmmm.......mine heads to a shop next week. Thinkin while it's on a lift.....
That's what I am told!
If you do have them welded up, please let me know what you were charged. Want to make sure I don't get ripped off. Seems like $100-$120 is reasonable from what I have read, some people get away really cheap.
If memory serves correctly, it'd be the front weld location and if you go 3point, the 3rd point by the transmission tunnel. I would think that the rear mount point (which ties in with the lower control arm mount) might be far enough away, but I'm not familiar enough with welding to know for sure -- it could still heat the floor pan up. Definitely worth mentioning to whoever goes to weld it.
werd, good call. I'd make sure to mention to them. These wouldn't be three points, so I wouldn't have to worry about the trans tunnel. I'll let them make the call.
Farmington is right use a drive on hoist to get the car level and the suspecion [ can't spell it right] loaded then weld it on. Sean did mine that way after welding it on the drive on hoist he finished welding it on a frame hoist. He did't catch my carpet on fire a spark cought the gas line on fire it ran right by the subframe concector. He had a fire ext. right by his side and put it out right away.

Ah, my bad - must have been someone else that I'm thinking of who had their carpet catch.
FWIW - I searched a bit and it seems it'd be a fluke on the carpeting unless the welder just runs a massive continuous bead really slowly and heats the hell out of the floor. I'll let the shop make the call.
Also - I keep responding with things like this so that future folks searching don't just find a dead end thread. I hate when I find that.
