    What causes this?

    What could be the reason for the greenish ring around my spark plugs. Here is an image of what I see. Engine is a tbi 305. It does have headers, but I dont hear them leaking out.

      I have, dont know what it was. Was on my CJ, the plugs were there for DECADES. I just replaced them and forgot about it.

        pry just staining from old age/use. Probably a good indication that it's time to change them.
        Pacesetter LT's, Pacesetter ORY, full MSD ign., 2 step, rear LCA's, SFC's, B&M Ripper, poly motor mounts, Nitto NT05R's, WS6 wheels, KYB AGX adj. suspension, Eibach Sprotline springs, Trickflow elbow w/K&N, All HVAC deleted w/ delete panel, no AIR, No EGR

            yellow spark plug wires will do that

              Oh really? yellow wire to do that.. There are less than a year old, swapped em out when I put the motor in.

                Probably just from the heat the plugs get and road debris.

                  Think I should run a different plug? colder one or just different type?
