Only one that I know of was Sman and he moved onto a 6.0 I believe.

6.0 is a very common swap into an fbody. 5.3 are making their way into every thing but most people figure for the extra hundred bucks go with the 6.0.
    SS4Matt has a 5.3 in his car

Not to mention the stock shortblock record is held by a 5.3

5.3 is a stronger block with more meat in the cylinder walls and stronger rods

I got mine for free, lol.

L33 is aluminum I thought? I would have guessed you would want to stay with an iron block.

It will be fine. Look up L33 turbo builds. Its not like he's pushing 900 WHP

if your planning on running your turbo you will have to grab a engine that match the A/R on the hot side of your turbo. its not critical but will give you the best option for horse power. a 6.0l could cause you turbo to spool to early in the RPM range. or a 5.3l may cause it to spool to late. i dont know what you have. im just sayin check and be sure. plenty of calculators out there to help you. here's alittle inspiration.

its all in the desighn. everyone thaught i was off my rocker when i posted my hp goals. they have some pretty large turbo on this engine but they have a some what close to ideal A/R number for the exaust housing. understand this motor is not by no means a durable engine. the ls cranks are rate anywhere from 750-1000hp depending on how good your tune is. rods are generally 600hp limit so this motor would blow in due time. problebly sooner than later.

I heard it blew up after 60 something pulls as well, still pretty impressive but as Larry mentioned look at where the pulls started

I doubt it would last more than 5 1/4 mile passes.

                              richard.
thats one reason why a decent size cam for the cubes and larger turbos were used to limit cylinder pressure down low.
They were hitting the dyno around 4800. someone messed up and loaded it at 3300 or so and the cylinder pressure killed it.
Richard is working on a 5.3 now. wait til you see what it makes. Wiseco just released its junkyard dog series of pistons for 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 just for this type of build

in a actually car it may live awhile. that dyno will load the engine more than all but the heaviest car with a tight convertor
