havent had anytime to do it yet. but... there the oil smells like gas. i know the car is running rich, and was tuned rich. after the tune, i had a feeling it was running pretty rich. put a new wideband in and it said it was. i found a hole in my exhuast before the WB02 sensor. i think on the dyno, it pulled fresh air in the hole and read leaner then the car actually was, causing a rich tune. i called the tuner and told him that. he said its not rich, and that wouldnt cause it. well now, there is fuel in my oil and i'm SURE i have atleast one washed out ring, maybe more.

A small leak wouldn't cause it to read lean on a hard pull, at least it shouldn't. Are you still running NB sensors anywhere? What's the WB read above 3k when you have your foot into it?

How well does the fuel pressure hold? I wonder if you have a leaky injector.

my wideband quit... replaaced the sensor still doesnt work. i think its the other part or the wideband... fuel pressure was good, atleast on the dyno. he monitored it the whole time. no other 02 sensors at all

Aright, so it's open loop tuned. Do you have a IAT sensor? Anyway, you'd notice it was running rich enough to wash out a ring - black cloud behind you.

As for holding in pressure, I meant when it isn't running and after the pump primes. I guess with LS1 motors it is easy enough to pull the rail/injectors to check for leaks, too.

the system holds pressure. if i push the shrader valve fuel sprays out. there is a cloud behind me.

Not necessarily, when I spun my two bearings in the 94 I had a couple quarts worth of gas in my oil and I never had black clouds.

That said - if you smell gas in your oil, I wouldn't do anything before changing the oil. It's not like a few drops will make your oil smell, there has to be a good amount of gas in there and you don't want to kill your bearings.

yeah, for some reason it doesn't lubricate well with gas in it.......lol. I am surprised that we have to tell anyone this fact.

Saturn design flaw. I've had a 93 SL1 and 98 SL2 (with two different motors) and they all burned oil, even with low miles (80k). These motors run warm, the rings get gummed up because because there are no drain back holes in the pistons I believe.

i believe in karma very heavily. one thing to remeber is it always comes back just not the way you may have hoped it would. friends you meet. something going easy that normally hard. some things people consider pure luck. or just good health.
