  • Replace pilot bearing????

ok so i have my trans and clutch out of the car for a clutch swap. My rear main is clean and looks fairly new, no leaks so i am gonna just leave it since its not leaking. My question is should i replace the pilot bearing? how hard is it to replace? I have one that came with my clutch kit from Competition Clutch. Car has 93k. Thanks

Levi, go to Autozone and rent a pilot bearing puller - should only take a few wacks to get it out. Tap the new one in. Did it come with a bearing or bushing?

ARP makes pressure plate bolts too - call up summit and have them add them to your order.

Use an air drill with a small bit and drill a few holes around the old bearing to relieve some pressure. Then you're going to have to grind out part of the center to get the puller to fit.

              Used to own a Firebird.

This can also push your water plug in. Not a good idea.

I have another question also, i bought brand new GM master and slave hydraulics but the ones on the car look almost new and work perfect so i dont really wanna replace them if they are fine. I also need some extra cash right now.

The LT hydraulics aren't as fickle as the LS stuff. Try it if it works - return the new stuff, if not replace it.
