Started my car yesterday, ran like absolute shit. Checked plugs, fouled out.. Put new plugs in this morning, started car, sound good for about 10 seconds and then back to spitting and sputtering.. Ran car for 2 minutes max, pulled plugs, fouled out.. Other than cosmetic stuff, the only thing I have changed is the injectors(same injectors just rebuilt).. Sorta lost, Thoughts..

do you have any codes?
-a shot it the dark is to check your fuse for "engine sensor". It controls vital sensors like the MAF, etc. If blown it can cause major issues
-I would also test your fuel pressure to see if you have a failing FPR, causing the pressure to be abnormally high (above 4 bar) which would make the injectors to flow more.
-make sure all your coils are plugged in!
Be careful running that thing if that rich, I would be scared for cylinder washdown if you really try to let it run.

It hasn't ran more than 3-4 minutes total.. Checked coils, I had a TPS code and a MAF code yesterday, low voltage... I cleared them and they haven't came back... Guess I'll check my fuse.. These plugs don't seem fuel soaked, just completely black after 1-2 minutes max..Originally posted by ThreeHonks View Postdo you have any codes?

Is there any correlation to the plugs being fouled out in the same cylinder that had previously bad flowing injectors and now you have the good flowing injectors on it?- Brian Meissen

I would check that fuse asap especially if you had a code.Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostIt hasn't ran more than 3-4 minutes total.. did you change to a colder plug? Put a colder plug in a snowmobile this winter and it would even start
EDIT: just becasue it didnt show back up on the engine light doesnt mean the code wasnt still there. Is the MAF plugged in? If you get a MAF low frequency code (like you have), the computer willl no longer use the MAF to control engine function, it reverts to speed density.
Having the low frequency code over the high frequency code tells me that the PCM is not seeing the MAF AT ALL. Because that means it has no voltage reading from it. This is the same code you get if you were to unplug the MAF (100% sure of this)Last edited by ThreeHonks; February 26th, 2011, 08:37 AM.

Yep, checked the fuses.. All of them.. Didn't see any bad.. I have no way to check voltage, but obviously it is off.. Checked all my connections, grounds.. Have to run and get some MAF cleaner.. Car ran fine when I parked it... MAF has been sitting in the garage..Originally posted by ThreeHonks View Post
P101 explanation at the bottom of the table. If the computer is not seeing the MAF, then it will normally run extremely rich. You are on the right track by looking at the MAF. Did you check that fuse yet? should be in the engine bay fuse boxsigpic

clean it and then let us know... I hate to say it, but I wouldnt be surprised if you end up having to replace the MAFOriginally posted by OIF1VET View PostYep, checked the fuses.. All of them.. Will try cleaning. Anyone know what pins on the PCM are for the MAF? Might need to do a continuity check also... Also read an intake leak could cause this?? I thought of replacing my gaskets, but didn't and now that I think about it, I am not even sure I checked to make sure all 8 ports had a gasket(painter had it for 5 weeks).. Could be a big fail on my part...
