Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Anyone know how to check it? It appears I got lucky, couple friends stopped by tonight to see how I was doing the battery relocation and noticed the belt.. Parked it just in time!! Don't mind the filth, it's on the list.....
Guy who sold my dad his new Z28 said the tensioner had broken, belt flew off and screwed up the steering rack. I'm calling BS but I'm not entirely sure.
Weird, is the belt that loose that it sits over one groove? To me it just looks like the belt was not put in the right grooves! I had to replace my accessory tensioner a year ago or so, it was making a little noise, so i figured better safe than sorry and I replaced it.

I only messed with it for a second, but it seemed loose enough that I could of moved it back by hand without moving the tensioner.. Last time this happened it was my crank dampener had broken.. Checked that, it's fine..
I think Derek hit the nail on the head. Improper installation would be my guess. Tensioners should last forever. Check the guage on the tensioner to see if the belt has streched.

tensionser on these cars don't last forever hence why there is an aftermarket for them, they can wear over time and the pulleys can even go bad. Its not a common issue by any means but I have heard of a few guys on tech having issues at high hp levels.
