    317's +cam for boost first?

Really might as well just save and save and save and save and save and do it all at once so you don't have to have it tuned 3 times.

    Used to own a Firebird.

personally id do a turbo setup, get some decent parts and just run low boost for street, daily driving duties.

decide on a power adder first, buy that and then run the car as is with the blower/turbo setup. You can make 500rwhp pretty reliable at that power and still live on the stock internals for a while. In order to hit your hp goal I would suggest building a nice stroker motor to go along with that power adder of your choice. Bigger cubes means you'll be able to run less boost and make that hp goal. Less boost usually is more reliable as your not putting more stress on the blower/turbo.

Thank you everyone for the input!

The hp number is not the top priority, what to do with my car next is so that I'm taking the right steps towards some big numbers like that!

So it sounds like my best bet is to pick the FI I want and that would be the logical place to start.

Maybe a turbo or s/c ls1 will be all I want. I might just be satisfied enough with that or I'll just stroke it, add a FI cam or whatever. Either way, it makes a lot more sense to me now that I should start there because it leaves room later on down the line to do build the engine and make it work with the FI setup. It sounds like I'm just repeating what Detroitmuscle said but in different words, he just makes a lot of sense.

Yes, people destroy rearends on these 6-speed cars with stock power.
