I have my car full bolt on finally and honestly I thought that it would keep me satisfied for a while but it's not cutting it! The plan from the begining was to do boltons, cam, heads, and done! Now I'm just lost on how to go about the next mod. I'm even thinking about twin turbo as the final mod to end it. I'm just lost on how to go about this because the long-term goal would be 600-700rwhp without nitrous in the most street mannered way possible. I guess I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to that hp goal, one step at a time. Would cam/heads/turbo get me there? etc...

600hp? That's quite expensive of a HP goal - I would just do heads and cam and/or stroke it.- Brian Meissen

I know but I'm just trying to have a set HP to get to or pretty close too. I'm not planning on getting there over night either. Thought about stroking it too, that'd be almost definite with a turbo. I really want it to be reliable though, commuting to work/school, trips out of state etc.Originally posted by meissen View Post600hp? If you want it to be reliable, why not just do a cammed ls7
. From what I have seen, that should put you close without building some radical engine with boost. Just save up for a while and get a used one out of a wrecked 'vette.

High HP out of an LS1 + reliability just doesn't go hand-in-hand. The more you mod the less reliable it gets.- Brian Meissen

turbo and reliability do not go in the same sentence. I would stroke and procharge it, look what at the numbers seb put down at the dyno day spinning the tires.-Joel

I've heard this kind of stuff before. Many people assume you can have 600-700 HP and still be totally reliable and drive like stock.
They want race car power but are puzzled why it has behavior issues driving around town.
Not saying anything to put down your goals but they seem a little unrealistic to me esp. considering you want reliability and drive anywhere anytime capability.
Also setting a HP goal is probably the wrong approach try a E.T. goal like 10.50's or something. These are much more attainable and usually can be done with less overall HP. either way a large sum of money will be spent just making the drive train hold up and be reliable at those power levels.
A big cube setup would most likely be your best bet. IMOCraigSemi Retired Street Racer2012 Lava Red Mustang GT 5.0 MT82GONE BUT NOT FORGOTEN

I'm just lost on what to do first. H/C or FI? Especially if I do the Cam first then it has to be tailored to future needs. I just want to do gradually get it done but I'm trying to figure out what makes sense to do first.
