Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

How the eff do I get this out? Dont ask how it got there, just need it out. Its a tap in a intake bolt hole (in the head) with a 3/8"-16 helicoil already in it.
That tap is hardened so drilling that is going to be one HUGE pain in the a. I would try what they said above. You can always soak a rag and put it around the area that you are welding on. Used it in HVAC when soldering a/c units and such.

And another thing.....when I gun the motor, I want the whole world to think it's coming to an end. -Homer Simpson
I would try welding a bolt to it before extracting, maybe check with the company who made the tap and maybe they have a warranty or will fix property damage since it just snapped off like that
Good luck if you drill, i broke an easy out in a kmember bolt that got stuck, had to use the torches and burn a hole down the middle and went with a bigger easy out, drill bits will do nothing to that hardend metal.
You might get lucky with a tap extractor..they can be finiky to use. Use lots of oil and compressed air to try and keep it free of debris. Your only other option is to weld a bolt on it like they other guys said. I have extracted many broken taps in my machine building days...theres always a way!lol If neither of those methods work for you, you can always take it to a machine shop and they can "burn" it out with a solid carbide high speed end mill.
My dad did the same thing - broke an easy-out in a regular threaded hole on my head... we took the head to Steve and he had someone drill it out and helicoil it for us for a good price.
