Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

only problem with that is most cars these days run 13s right off the lot and aren't even really performance oriented. Running 12s today is like running 16s back in the 60s.

Thanks.. Not to threadjack, I'made two n20 pases(11.62 and 11.74 both at 121 mph).. Upping the shot and shooting for low 11's next time out(a 10.999 would be awesome).. Now, back to your local channel..

Yea I hear ya there, in the 60s my cobalt is considered a muscle car lol. Well lets go for 11s then!
I like the idea of having a low 12 second car because it can be built with the KISS(keep it simple stupid) principle and it can be driven to and from the track, and to work the following day.
Usually the faster you go the less reliable it becomes and the more things you break.

I see what you mean with all the 13 second cars around now, but i still dont really agree with that. Its the 10s and faster cars that have really improved. i dont think a 12 second car is any more impressive now than it was 40 years ago. A 12 second car was "fast" back in the day, but it was not a drag car. My uncles AAR cuda ran consistent 12.7s/12.8s with ONLY slicks, headers, and a carb adjustment and is documented on video at milan. And thats not even a big block car, just a 340-6. Plenty of built cars ran faster than that. Often, the only thing that was holding a lot of "muscle cars" back from 13s off the lot was the terrible polyglass tires. My cousins coronet can bang all three gears in the torque flite before it gets moving. Also, almost everything had drivelines strong enough to handle a launch with a real tire out of the box. That cannot be said about most cars today.

Really, you think 25 feet for the whole car, door panels, trunk, spare tire area etc? I mean I didn't use my whole 100(but haven't finished yet) but used much more than 25.. I guess it all depends what you want to cover..
