He actually took the setup off his truck when he blew the trans at Lapeer (a Cohen (sp?) built trans), cause it was like a tractor supercharger he got for nothing, and didn't do shit. But it was a cool concept...

    Pretty much.

But this really isn't anything new...

Mad Max has been doing it for 40 years...
    Well - in theory.

The Interceptor Mad Max drove was not supercharged. The blower was just a shell/casing, inside sat a four-barrel carburetor.

      It's a joke, son...

Any type of push-button supercharger has to be special...

The one on my buddy's truck was awesome - I wish I had taken a picture of it before he took it off...

We've probably got an easy decade before concepts are even on the drawing board for even moderate V6 displacements.

Ok, well utilizing a typical boosting device for a small 4 cylinder (sub 1.5L) you can estimate about 8 to 15kW required to boost the engine... lets use 10kW in our example..

          10,000W/12v = 833 amps

Now, electric boosting does have feasibility if you have high voltage availible, but 12 volt systems... probably not.

May be the future to forced induction, you never know.

Probably sell for double the price of a regular supercharger.

That's probably why they can get so good of gas mileage with the supercharger, until they hit it. But how would that work when it isn't spinning? Does the air just pass over the screws?
Hey Fbomb.. check this out, its the supercharger used in the 5th gens. "During low-load cruising conditions, the supercharger's internal bypass allows the rotors to spin freely, reducing parasitic drag to less than one-third of one horsepower. Fuel mileage is normally within 1/2 to 1 mpg less than stock." i dont know if it engages the pulleys or what, but thats a badass system
