  • Got started today...

Well, have my nitrous back in and hooked up.. The wire I asked about in another thread is a hot wire for the solenoids.. Also removed the rear seat back, I have to have about 3" taken off the top to fit properly and allow the nitrous bottle to sit right.. It actually looks cool without the back and just the bottom cushions in place.. We'll see, maybe someday...I also got the car up in the air and removed the crank dampener bolt. It came out very easy, I doubt it was ever tightened correctly. All Speed said I can use any of their tools to help remove the dampener, I hope they have the puller I need, if not I read sears sells a set that will work. I hope to have it complete this weekend.. We'll see how it goes.. Need to go to GM and get a new dampener bolt and crank seal..

    Here's a couple pics.
The damage(spun the pulley off the dampener)

    Car in the air..

    The bolt..lol

    Rear seat back delete..

This contains the type of puller I will need to use.

I stuck a couple pieces of wood on top of the dampener and wedged it stuck. Luckily the bolt wasn't very tight, soo, it came right out.. Putting it back together is going to be the fun part. You have to torque(using the old bolt) to 240 lb-ft(to seat dampener), remove bolt and install new bolt to 37 lb-ft, plus 140 degrees..

seems like it should be a fairly simple fix, good luck! I still don't know how people do all that crap in a garage with no lift. We had to do my supercharger install that way because we couldn't tie up a bay in our shop. What a pain! lol

Sounds like a good time to put that huge son of yours to work! Lol. I don't think that I have ever seen a torque rating that high.

Guess I am going to have to drop the starter when it comes time to crank that bolt.. No way my little wood blocks will hold up to that much torque..

shit I'd be afraid of pushing the car off the jack stands at 240ft lbs.

I don't even think we have any of those around here? I've never seen one near my house at least. just autozone and advanced auto.
