Eh, I thought you're suppose to wait like 1500-3000 miles before using synthetic?- Brian Meissen

I always heard you should change oil 200 then 500-600 miles then 1500 miles before going to synthetic. some people recomend 3000 before synthetic.sigpic

Good point. It's funny when you think about the differences between hobby cars and the way it's done at the factory.Originally posted by 81DaytonaPaceCar View PostEh, GM has been shipping new cars with Mobil 1 in them for years...- Brian Meissen

I was under the impression that all engines are broken in (to a point) somewhere along the assembly line.Originally posted by 81DaytonaPaceCar View PostEh, GM has been shipping new cars with Mobil 1 in them for years...-Joel

Negative...I got to take a tour of the 3800 plant in Buick City some years ago, and they only even start roughly 1 in 20 of them.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostI was under the impression that all engines are broken in (to a point) somewhere along the assembly line.
They're all hanging on a rack slowly traversing down the line, and they'd randomly pick one at a station, hook up fuel/power/computer, start it up (open headers), rap it a few times, disconnect it and box it.
Now I'm sure some engines are exceptions to the rule (LS9).Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! AN ENGINE THAT SHAKES MY INTERNAL ORGANS LIKE THEY GOT PARKINSON'S! FYI, I don't think royal purple even meets new oil standards. I would use a SM or better rated oil from pennzoil or valvoline and save yourself some cash and motor problems. I would not use RP in a old lawnmower.Originally posted by Kwazrollinz28 View PostEh i suppose, Doesn't matter to me.
not really a rebuild its just a new pump and cam.sigpicMODS: SLP DUAL/DUAL EXHAUST, 160 STAT, MTI LID, SHANER S3 T.B., SMOOTH BELLOWS, DESCREENED MAF, TUNNEL BRACE, UMI SFC & PHB, STRANO SWAY BARS, DRILLED/SLOTTED ROTORS, WHISTLER LIGHTS, BLACK BILLET GRILLE w/69'SS EMBLEM, BLACK SMOOTHED TAIL PANEL w/69'SS EMBLEM, BLACK SS HOOD INSERT, INTIMIDATOR SS WHEELS.
