  • Trans Am down! :(

Went to start my car this morning to move it out of the garage and I have no power steering. Look under the hood, belt is thrown, reinstall, start, belt is thrown, repeat several times, buy new belt same issue. Found out upon further investigation that for some reason the serpentine belt is hitting the upper belt pulley for the AC belt. It has an allen head bolt but I couldn't find any allen wrenches that fit it. Tried metric and standard. I have no idea why the belt would be hitting that pulley, I checked the power steering pump, alternator, etc, everything seems tight, belt looks straight.. Have to figure out how to get the ****ing pulley off..

Yep, cranked it up this morning to move it, and that's all she wrote.. It's not the year of the Fbody!!! Least it happened in my garage and not between here and Detroit 2 weeks ago. I just need to get that top pulley off, screw the AC.. A buddy is bringing over some allen wrenches for me to try tomorrow.. None of mine fit.. Anyone happen to know the size?

this may seem stupid but make sure the serpentine belt is routed properly, I had mine on wrong before and everything still worked but it wore the belt down fast.

As far as I know I did, I followed the diagram under the hood. It fits fine, is nice and tight, but hitting that damn AC pulley for odd reason.. I'd take a pic, but don't feel like getting under the car again and putting the belt back on..

Least it has just been minor bullshit.. Luckily it happened in the garage and not 200 miles from home..
