Didn't have to take my motor out to do the pan. Just had to undo the motor mount bolts.

My cousin who does most of the work on my cars is an ASE master tech and he said I didn't have to remove the engine, just undo the mounts, remove the drive shaft and slide the trans back. He told me that's why it would cost more on my car because it's a manual and he has to adjust the clutch and stuff when he's done.

its probably easier to loosen up the k-member than mess with the trans, bolts are much more accessible.

its a ***** of a job, by far the worst part of my buildup last summer. do the white spring for sure while you are in there and tack weld the pickup tube on.

I rarely have a problem with changing fuel filters (other than the occasional armpit full of gas). I just let it soak for a few minutes first with Kroil. For those of you who never tried it, BUY IT! I've tried just about every penetrating oil out there and this stuff makes everything else seem like water!!! In my shop I refer to it as "Miracle Juice" Only problem is that you have to order it direct from the manufacturer (kanolabs.com).

Before sending your ride out to have the fuel injection 'professionally cleaned' try out some Lucas injection cleaner. Advance, Auto Zone, etc. carry it. It's not that expensive and is worth a shot. I use it in customer's cars and sometimes it does nothing and sometimes it makes them run like a whole new car. Kind of hit or miss, but for a couple bucks you can't go wrong.
