  • Couple of questions for about my car!

Ok i am curious my current carb does not have a choke can i get a carb with an electric choke or what do you guys suggest? Also the fuel stabilizer stuff for the gas would it hurt at all evertime i fill up to put that in the gas tank cause i wont know when the next time i will drive it and dont want the carb and such to get clogged and what not. Your suggestions? I have more questions but i forgot. I guess these can be a starter.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

I'm betting that the choke is just not hooked up...that said my personal preference is an electric choke. Cable chokes work fine, but I just don't care for the slop that comes with cable chokes...I always wonder if it really is completely off or not.

The fuel stabilizer is not necessary if the car gets driven, even it's as little as a couple times a year...really only for long term storage.

As far as an electric choke goes do you need to buy a complete new carb or are there kits?

                      Yep...good carb...no choke though...this is you...

EDIT: That may be a bit undersized for your application...don't know what your engine specs are, but it would likely be a bit more peppy with a 750 or 800 CFM carb...

                          Yep...sure can...

Don't know if you saw my edit above, but that carb is likely undersized for your application...don't know your engine specs, but a 750 or 800 CFM carb would probably be a bit more peppy for you.

Check with Creight (CS3 Automotive...site sponsor at the top right corner of the screen) for either a new carb or a choke kit. From my experience, he's generally cheaper than Summit or Jegs...

Hmmm...painting it blue shouldn't make the belt squeak...are you getting unusual wear on the belt?

But if you needed one, the junkyard would probably be the cheapest way to get one....
