  • Question about removing a cat

Me and my Dad have been arguing about this for a while. He is going to be buying a 96 Chevy 2500, 6.5 diesel. He says the first thing he is doing is taking the cat off of it. I told him it will throw a code being it is a 96, so there is an O2 sensor after the cat. He doesn't seem to believe me, whois right here?

You beat me to it. . . I was going to say shoot it with a paintball gun or slingshot, they usually don't stick around very long after that. . . lol

If it's got an O2 sensor after the cat, you will get a code. You should be able to get an O2 simulator that will fix that though.
It was amazing on my GTP. As soon as I put the O2 simulator on it the cat fell right off. haha.

if it does have an o2 sensor after the cat, it will be in his best interest to leave the cat on it.
