I dont think I have ever seen a Heads, Cam, Intake LT1 car make 480+ to the wheel's. LS1 for the win!

well The best way to go about the opti is to get a 95+ because there vented. I did the swap and I thought about putting a LS1 in my car But I did want to rewire the whole car and i bought a wrecked car with 50k on it for as much as a LS1 motor is selling for. I was a plug and play swap except for 1 wire I had to run and that was all.

mabe on a dyno jet, 450 at the wheels is about the best for a stock cubed LS-1

you can swap to a delteq or equivalent for a pretty reasonable expense. those wont fail you.

WEll it cost about 3 grand for the heads ,cam, and intake to make 500hp

the lt1 can make great power at the same price. I.E. Eportworks.com . le3 head and cam package. makes well over 500hp with a stick and stock block.

Or 397ci stroker kits $1500 ( 2 grand 408ci). and up grade you stock heads. you will still make more power with the lt1.

the problem with the ls1 is the cost of parts. With the same money the lt1 will make more power. you just have t no how to shop around.

Thats why I am using a lt1 but if you have the money for LS1 parts GO FOR IT. I like bang for the buck!!!!!

ps. I for got we wher talking abut power to the wheels.

So how much u think bolting on 500rwhp is going to cost?.lol

I still say for the same moeny a Lt1 would be faster.

I agree but that defiantly would be 450 on a MD and I have honestly NEVER seen any H/C LT1 making close to that on a stock shortblock.
