  • 2.8=3.1

    So some of you may know im buying the 3.1 v6 out of Gregs_Gsxr's camaro

    His is a 91 RS 3.1
    Mine in a 88 RS 2.8..... Will i need the wiring harness and computer from his car?
    I know regardless i will have to swap the vined chip thing in my computer to the new one if i need his computer but do i need it all or will it be plug and play no problem with what i have?

      I'd say that you should use the wiring harness & computer from the engine's donor car. I do know that all the GM 60 degree V6's (2.8/ 3.1/3100/3300/3400/3500) are basically the same, other than the intake on the 2.8 the rest are pretty much just cylinder size & head changes. But, that's just as far as basic engine design goes.

            I think you will need the harness and wiring, computer as well if he will give to you, cant hurt. The more parts you have from the 3.1 will make life easier on you in the long run.

              you will need the computer at least in order for the motor to run, but u will need to check and see if the connectors are right if not you will have to swap harness as well

              or just sell me the car for 450$
