I'm gonna save up for a GN engine non intercooled (that will change later). I found a guy who deals with grand nationals and had an 89 TTA and he said engine and swap for around 1500. I'm going over to talk to him again tomorrow and get an actual price on all of it. Gary you probably know him, Bruce Jones, has his own used car lot on US12 in sturgis called The Get Go, LLC. He said hes friends with Lee, the guy with all the turbo buicks on 6th avenue by the high school. I'll take some pics of what I might be getting and of his car and post em up tomorrow.

From what I've heard, it's the biggest pain in the ass to try and fit that all into the car. There's a guy that lives around here that put a turbo 3.8 into his RS. It looks great, but it was hard work he said. Just expect to pay more than 1500, 1500 for the engine, not including misc parts and all the labor and such involved. From what I've heard, those turbo 3.8's aren't easy to come by, either.- Brian Meissen

No, I can tell you right now that you're not. First off it's impossible to find GN motors. Your friend's friend of a friend must have bought his back in 89.Originally posted by thursday12889I'm gonna save up for a GN engine non intercooled (that will change later). Secondly, the TTA have MANY TTA-specific pieces. It's not ANYWHERE close to bolt-in.
AND for whatever reason you decided you wanted to go with a hot-air GN motor, they're harder to find than the intercooled motors.
Terrible idea.
Build a 350 and actually get somewhere.

And a different intercooler/ALL THE PIPING/every bracket/fuel system/god damn everything.Originally posted by MattODoomYeah its an easy(er) fit in third gens, since they made third gens that came with the buick 3.8 Turbo (1989 Turbo Trans Am).
Had diff heads and manifolds tho.
It's just the same turbo and short block. Not a feasible swap.

Well actaully this guy has 2 non intercooled GRAND NATIONAL MOTORS, and three intercooled ones, along with enough parts to put together two more engines however he wants them. He just got an SG1 non intercooled Grand National motor. And he's not my freinds friend of a friend, i know this guy personally. And did I say I was gonna make it exactly like a TTA? No I didn't. He said around 1500 for a full engine AND labor. Yeah it will probably be more but not much more. How is it a terrible idea? Pontiac didn't seem to think so when the put the turbo 3.8 in the trans am in 1989. If I wanted a car with a 350 I would go out and buy one not put one in my car. But anyways I didn't get to talk to him yesterday so I'm gonna talk to him today at Street Wars and then I will take pictures and such.Originally posted by Insomnya3AMNo, I can tell you right now that you're not. You missed the point. You didn't research this enough to know what you are talking about.
