I was hoping to get some input from you guys about this, I know there's pros and cons to each of them but there are so many choices now.
The rear main is leaking on my 86 Trans Am so I need to pull it out to fix it. It has 106k on it so while it's out I either need to freshen it up or swap it. It is a 305 TPI so I was thinking a LSX swap either a LS1 or LQ4 or maybe going old school and doing a 383 or something similiar. I'll keep the 700r4 with the 383 which would need a rebuild also for the new motor.
I was trying to shoot for around 350 rwp if I was doing the swap.
Oh and living in this great metropolis of Fort Gratiot there isn't alot of choices for a good shop to do this so any suggestions on a reputable shop would be greatly appreciated also.
