Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I think that number is the partial vin that is stamped on the block.
There should be another number, possibly above and to the right of that one, that will start with a letter and end with either 2 or 3 letters (likely 3 letters) with numerals in between.
This number should be a larger font and maybe not stamped as deep.
From the partial vin, I'm guessing that the 15B indicates it's a 1985 vehicle built in the Baltimore plant, which means it's likely a pickup/van or El Camino block, which means it's likely a 150 hp 2-barrel 305 motor.
But the other code will confirm for sure.

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
i think i figured it out can someome tell me if i am right the # is K07 08 CMJ so is the engine made in canada on july 8th 1980 305 fullsize/camaro. is that what you get.
thank you
IF it's a 305...the partial vin doesn't make sense.
If it's a 305, the engine was born at the St. Catherine, Ontario plant on July 8th, 1980 and was intended for a full size Chevy or Camaro with an automatic transmission.
Are you sure it's a 305?
I'd double check...might be a 350...there's also another usage for CMJ, but that's from the mid-70s...and that would make the partial vin make sense...

what should i double check on to see if it is 305 or 350
See if there is a number cast into the side of the block...don't remember what side...
Or if that isn't there, measure the bore and maybe we can get it that way...

ok i tried to find numbers on the side of the block but i cant see the side of the block because it is in the car and all ready to go other than a gasket for the carb and a starter. i can get numbers off the back of the block if that helps the numbers on top of the bolt place for the bell housing.
according to this number it's a 350 from the year 69-80
That makes sense...that would make it a 1975 350 "Police" block with a 4 barrel carb for a Chevy full size car.
If you can, I'd measure the bores anyway...just to make sure.
If that's what it is, it's a solid block, and a nice find.
