    Wow...

    Story for you...

Did some research for a guy years ago on a 69 Mako Shark Corvette that was equipped with the tri-power L-79 aluminum head 427-435 hp big block (nowhere near stock anymore), M-22 rockcrusher 4 speed, and a 4.88 rear.

Long story short, he bought the car, and I got to drive it home for him.

Rolling down the highway at 4000 rpms at 60 mph in 4th gear and this thing would leave 20 foot black streaks under acceleration...no shifting required.

If you've never ridden in one, I'd make it a priority to bum a ride from someone who has one.

Until you've felt the torque, you won't understand the magic of a big block.

Oh, yeah, and the cost to build the BB will be 1/2 or less what it will take to make a small block have the same power.

And, no, I'm not starting another carb vs. FI debate...

you can bore and stroke an LSX block to 427ci that would be a complete monster with boost

I've had a ride in a big block Camaro before. It was fun, and made lots of noise. If I had the money and was doing all the work to swap motors I would do a LS2 swap. Throw a few mods its way and you could have a 500hp engine that gets good gas mileage.
