Yep what Jeff said. Get ready to hack that pretty car apart. Oh and don't expect to be doing much driving at these gas prices.

This is true...but a 454 LSX motor is just about built as far as it's gonna go...

You could make it fit. There was a yellow pro street LT1 style Camaro at Autorama that had a big block in it. I know you have to cut the cowl to clear the carb and if you plan on running an air cleaner you have to do even more hacking. Why bother putting an old school boat anchor in one when you can build a LSx motor that will kick the crap out of it and get 10x better gas mileage?

Pick your price. You can get a used one for ~$2500 or you can spend up to as much as you want if you get crazy with a C5R block and fancy heads/cam/intake and then there's always turbos.

I don't believe that statement anymore. When you can have a 1600HP small block LSx with twin turbos that's lighter than a boat anchor iron big block and NA built might get you 800HP or so, I'd take the turboed small block.

nothing overcomes small displacement like boooooost! I can't compare though, I've never driven a big block car.

Ls2 bigger then a ls1 which would you rather have.
I also meant in general. You can make a 10 sec ricer 4 banger with bolt ons
But with the same style bolt ons look what you can do with a ls1

I will be going with a 383 stoker in my 68
I could build up the 327 but I like the torqe from a 383.
and it will not have to wind up to get me their.

Now a 502 big block would be the cats ass.
