  • 1slo408's winter build

i got alot of pics i just gotta get them going but i'm doing a ground up approch on my car this winter, currently on jackstands with nothing under it lol

    engine- building a 408--almost done

trans- upgrading the t56 and bought a ram clutch

suspension- kind of undecided on shocks
eibach pro kit springs 1.5in drop, eibach anti roll kit 32mm sway bar up front and 1in in the back. adj panhard bar, torque arm, subframe connectors.as well as tubular trailing arms and relocation brackets

i'm starting at the back and moving forward, i pulled my stock suspension and rear end

    REAR END
my rear end just needs a pinion seal i cleaned it up and painted it, the wear patter on the gears is perfect no damage or wear marks and the fluid looked brand new when i drained it. about to throw that in in the next week when all my parts arrive (they better)

rebuilt the rear calipers new rotors and ceramic pads and new parking brake shoes.

more to come as well as pics as i said with 14 credit hours of school and 40hrs a week at school and stupid court stuff i dont get as much time as i want to

              Isn't a 408 an Olds motor?

unles you are running street tires (275s at most)... you can kiss that rear end goodbye. An M6 is a different world than an auto.

Ive ridden in a fairly mild 408 6 speed before... was making 475/500. the ammount of torque that motor had was unreal, it felt like it was going to grenade the 12 bolt in that car!

if youre going to drive it hard, start saving!

stroked lq9 or lq4 block.... Which is iron as Joel said. 4" stroke gives them a 408
