I don't want to try to get my car on a dyno, but I want to know about what kind of power it's going to make after I swap over my parts.
1993 Formula Firebird LT1
Stock HP Rating=275hp@5500 RPMs
Stock TQ Rating=325lb/ft@6300 RPMs
Stock 0-60=5.6 Sec.
Stock 1/4=14.1@98mph
Mods:
Flowmaster 80 Series single in>dual out
K&N Air Filter
Poly Trans Mount
Aluminum Driveshaft, about 11lbs, stocker's about 24lbs, I think.
Mobil One High Mileage Synthetic Oil
NGK Platinum Plugs
Accel Plug Wires
Otherwise, it's bone stock and has been babied all it's life. I don't want any overly dramatic posts about "Driveline Loss due to Mileage" Just tell me approx. what my car has right now, I want educated guesses for HP, TQ, 0-60, and 1/4 mile. Any guesses are welcome, I'm looking for the power ratings at the rear wheels AND at the crank, so if you have an idea of what a stock 93 LT1 runs HP-wise at the wheels, post it up.
Here's my estimate:
HP(crank):approx. 285hp
HP(RW):approx. 255hp
TQ(Crank):approx. 330 lb/ft
TQ(RW):approx. 300-305 lb/ft
0-60:approx. 5.3 sec.
1/4:approx. 13.9 @ 100
Am I too optimistic? Too conservative? I would go out and time my 0-60 time myself, but I haven't done all of this work yet, I'm doing an oil change and tune up next Friday after I pick up my check, and the driveshaft is going in probably Monday or Tuesday of this week, I need to find time to swap it in from the 'maro. Also, the trans mount will be installed at the same time as the DS.
Also, if you guys could give me an idea of what it would take to get this car in the 325hp-350hp range to the wheels, about 375-400 lb/ft, that would be awesome. That's basically my goal, but if it's going to take too much work, I'll settle for something less. Thanks in advance, guys!
