i have a a4 and went from 3.23's to 3.73's. I like the 3.73's alot better. Definitly go for the 3.73's. Mines a dd and runs about 2500 at 75-80. Did the math and top speed if i reved out is still about 160. So quicker acceleration, barely noticeable change in gas mileage and a top speed that most wont reach anyway.

The 3.42 gives a bit more go but also keeps the car tame and keeps the MPG up. A 3.73 can be used in an auto but most people do that when they start doing a bunch of bolt ons. I suggested 3.42 cause I wasn't sure if his car was stock or modded at all.

I put a solid spacer in my 12 bolt after I crushed the crush sleeve and broke a pinion bearing trying to launch the car. They are alittle harder to setup but well worth it

I'm getting ready to rebuild a 10 bolt posi for my TA and I want to use a solid spacer, you got any tips? Any reason you say its harder? Seems to me they would make setup easier.
