Well, there is going to be a week or 2 delay in receiving the new trans. Gotta wait for Sniper perf. to pull it out of Gassman's car. I hope I can get this done in time for the meet and greet. Its going to be tight, time wise.
I heard from Lisa @ Detroit gear today my converter is in. Ill pick it up tomorrow. So some progress. Gotta do some wire harness relocating this week too. Im goint to reroute my o2 wiring to run on top of the transmission and exit down from there. This way there wont be any way they go near the headers. I already have the 12 inch extensions. might as well use em.

Scrapped the relocation of the o2 wiring idea. I did disconnect everything and untwisted the main harness coming off the computer. It had a twist in it where it crossed the trans dipstick that was a huge pain in the rear. Then I cleaned up the two branches going down the back of the motor, re taped everything and then applied new heat tape. relocating the o2's wiring would have been a pita due to the wiring lengths. I would have had to add wire to both sides. I wasnt into it that much.
          Oh well. Back to waiting.

Hard to say, typically 5 quarts with a pan drop and filter change.

Put one quart in the converter before installing. You might need as much as 10 quarts, more if you have a deep pan. I think total fluid capacity is around 11 with a dry system and stock pan.

Just the stock pan. So 11 should do it. Ok thanks

Well that was sucktastic. The transmission is back in place,so is everything else. To late to run it so I will do that in the morning. I dropped the pan and cleaned it out, replaced the filter too. Wasnt too bad inside, very little slime. Magnet had about and 1/8th of an inch of slop on it. No metal flake or hard parts in the pan, so thats a relief!
The worst part of the entire thing was getting the transmission up on to the jack under the car. I had to stack up pieces of 2x10's and rock the trans up, slide another one under it, till there were 6. Then I had to slide the trans over onto the board on the jack. That little operation took 1.5 hours.
9 hours or so. Rolling around on a concrete floor when you are 50 years old is no picnic. Im sore in parts that I didnt know I had. I really hope this works, lol!

So any tips on filling the trans? I know I cant just dump 2 gallons of fluid into it and then start it up. Whats the procedure? Fill the pan, start it, cycle the gears. Refill the pan cycle the gears again, till full?

Test ride complete. Its moving under its own power again..And very smoothly I might add! Richard @ Detroit Gear.... You da man!
Once again, I wont use the "F " word, but it feels pretty good. I hope that the trans is full, it looks to be a bit over full, its hard to tell with clean fluid. There was some in the converter when I got it, I added a quart to the converter, then I put 1 gal. in the pan, started it up and ran it through the gears on the stands, shut it down, and put the single quart I had, then most of the other gal. I had bought.. What does the radiator hold? I probably should have drained that to but I didnt think of it till it was hooked up. I bought 10 quarts, I have 1.5 left over so I put in 8.5 quarts, its reading correctly on the stick, hard to see the new fluid though.

The difference between this new, Precision converter and the Revmaxx is unbelievable. 0 vibrations now. This thing is as smooth as a o.e.m. unit with the added stall when you put your foot in it. The best part is the lock up. There is NO doubt when it locks up, feels just like it shifted into a gear. worth every penny.

I am thinking about cutting the revmaxx open to see what failed in it. Anyone have a idea of what to use?
