As spring is getting closer i'm researching and pricing out the cost to upgrade the trans.

I'm thinking about going with set of Richmond 3.73 gears and adding a 3200 stall and added a trans cooler, in the summer this car maybe a DD on nice days.

Is there any thing else I can do make this trans more bulletproof? Where the car can make track pass and still get me to work.

    How much power?

Get the car tuned by someone that actually knows what they're doing.

There inst to much you can do to a 60E to make it stronger without doing pretty much a full rebuild IMO.

Use a good cooler and spend the money for a "good" converter. You won't be as happy with a budget converter. Ask me how I know. I also have 3.73 gears and think its a great gear for these cars.

Figure $350ish for a tune from Dr.Phil, screw a SLP lid, find a cheaper one..you will net the same gains anyways. K&N air filter is not needed. Paper will just do fine ..I sold my K&N for like $20 used for like a week and hated it.

trans temp is your biggest killer, dont cheap out on a cooler, beef it up after your blow it up.

                    one of 2 ways

-inline with the stock radiator...run it through the radiator then into the cooler and back to the trans.
                    OR
-from the trans directly into cooler and back into trans. ( this is how I plan on running mine)

i would think directly to the cooler and then back to the trans would be a better route to go.

would you guys reconmend going to a 3.73 gearing with the auto?

I put the car up on jack stands to start working on the rear end. and I notice the rear dif has oil coming out from the drive shaft so need to take it in for work...

3.73 is a good gear for an auto. I liked mine in my bolt on car. The oil coming out from around the driveshaft is from a bad pinion seal. The proper procedure for replacement calls for a new crush sleeve to be installed so now is a good time to gear it if your planning on it.

Yea when i seen that i started looking at gears on jegs web site... any brands to stay way from?

Will I need to do a computer tune when switching to different gears? would 4.11 gearing be to much for just a bolt on car?

Anyone been to Engineering Victories for work? hows the quality of work and turn around time?
