Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I will be going with one of these as well when the time comes to swap my clutch. Reputation is pretty strong, seems like about the best clutch for the money out there.
thanks, but i really want to have this swap done before spring, what do you have in yours?
im just looking for a clutch that has a pretty quick engagement but its still streetable and will work well with a LW aluminum FW
I have a Spec stage 3. It engages quick and bites hard. Down side is, it doesnt like to be slipped and itll chatter if you try. Ive heard a lot of very good things about competition though, the spec was about the only option i had at the time (2004 or so).
I also advise against the LW aluminum flywheel. They drive like crap IMO.

I've driven a Z28 with an aluminum flywheel, felt like I had to rev the piss out of it to get it to move without stalling. I wasn't a fan.
Sorry dude. Not sure what those go for, but I'd probably be prepared to write it off
well, they go for 460 new. so honestly as long as i get enough to replace it with a stock one ill be happy. but i dont think 200 is a too much of a far cry.. anything to help get some money for 4.10s
and dont worry i didnt pay 460 for it. i got a bundle of T56 swap parts (most of which ive had to replace) that it came in.

Somebody will buy it. Put it on CL for $300 o.b.o. and I'm sure you'll get some emails about it.
You didn't get screwed, you just got a bunch of parts that you don't really need, but can sell for as much (if not more) as the replacement parts you want.
Lightweight flywheels make the car a completely different animal. Less rotating mass=quicker throttle response, but at the cost of having to take off at higher RPMs. They have their place, but IMO, a street car isn't where it will be best utilized. A dedicated autocross vehicle would be a good application for a LW FW, but you do make sacrifices even there.
If you want reduced rotating mass, an aluminum flywheel and lighter wheels will be a good place to start, without sacrificing street manners. Get a decent clutch, stock FW, and call it good.
If it helps your decision at all, the Competition Clutch has a very strong reputation, drives like a stock clutch (easier to "slip" than a Spec Stage 3, for example), and is cheap to boot. A stock flywheel can be had for around $80 new on Rock Auto, and a lot of the auto parts stores offer price matching, so you should be able to get the same deal by taking in a printout from Rock Auto's website when you buy.
