Not when it's an LS with a TH350 or TH400 or Glide in it

Its not by far at all Gunna be a dd. just a weekend warrior and something to play with during the week.

I really want/need a 4500 stall guess I'm Gunna have to run it and see what she does. Let's just hope she stays cool enough.
You converter will heat up more sitting in traffic.

You got a turbo 400 matt?? Lol

Really? I figured the convertor would get hotter at a cruise.

              I believe Matt has a 350.

And no the converter builds up a lot more heat sitting, cause its just slipping. When in traffic I tend to trow it in neutral. (not the ls car but the 3rd gen with the 350)

I also find it funny when all the guys I go to school with don't believe my dad was shifting his BBC right around 7500 rpm.
You can find cams for them all day with power up to and even over 8,000.

I think your best bet would be to get a 4000 or so and a nice cooler like everyone else suggested.

Never though about it like that. Guess I'll have to do that.

Yup I think I'm Gunna go 4500 since you guys can cool a 4000 pretty easy by the sounds of it.

If cant shift a big block over 7k then something's wrong. I see 600+ CI big blocks twist over 8k rpms all the time. Just depends what kind of shit you got in it.

I've got a TH350, reverse manual valve body with a brake. as Curtis said it gets hotter sitting at a light, it actually helps to pop it in neutral at a light rather than having it "drag" so to speak while in 1st

What was you're reasoning for running a 350 matt?

Also do you guys have brackets made to keep the cooler away from the radiator? What's a good distance to keep them separated?

Also what kind of convertor do you run Matt? And how much power are you putting out if you care to answer that?

On the 95, the cooler is tied right to the ac condenser. And on the 84 it has about a 1/2 inch space from the radiator.

I'm running a TH350 because I happened to come across a core for free, I sold my T56 and put some of the money into building the TH350. at the time it was an alright idea but a few turbos later and this TH350 is not enough trans for my car. on the brake the car "creeps" when it comes into boost. I have a Coan converter (along with a handful of nice Coan pieces in the trans) the car makes 620rwhp on pump gas and 10# (just how it sits when I drive it around) it made a couple hundred more rwhp on 20# and race gas but it always splits the block in half, so I haven't gone back to the high boost tune up since.

My trans cooler sits out in front of everything....as for brackets....yeah there was a bit of fab work to hold the Radiator, IC and trans cooler onto the front of my car, it's all 1/4" moly round bar and chassis tabs. the radiator is actually "floating" in between the core support as it's bolted onto the round bar

I just cut open the front bumper last week and put in a black billet grill, it helped a lot

Holy shit!!! That's ****ing nice setup!!

I wish I had a nice setup like that!

Ok so basically that's what I needed by you and curt. How does your fan come on Matt? Thermostatically or is it on all the time? I like your setup Matt puts the cooler right out front where it will get the most cooling.

Im Gunna cut mine open aswell and add a grill I wanna get the most cooling I can get.
