  • I was told to ask for a donation in this thread by Brent. He said hes not sharing his monies, even though he obviously has billions.

THAT BASTARD! I will take a small tree that only makes about 10k a year. I'm not greedy.

          • The old axle was bent, no doubt about that.

Those welds look very porous! I'd make them foot the bill for a new tube and flange (matched to the new axle) done by a competent rear end shop, like DTS out of Ionia.

            What a ****ing joke

            • Sorry to hear about the bad luck..again. At this point the 10 bolt is looking pretty damn good.

Good idea on putting the cover on it. Give it some time and walk away.

                    • The thing that gets me - they new it looked like shit and ground it down....and figured the paint would hide it.

Call strange with the part number and see if it takes a different size seal. Call DTS, Moser and see how much it cost to replace the tube and end, and see what the shop will do to make it right.

If it's anymore than a couple hundred - I'd say cut your loss and buy a new housing.....at least it'll be right. Someone that can fab on their own would probably pay a couple hundred for your messed up housing.

The seal goes inside the axle tube, nothing to do with the end housing. But because the housing is on wrong, I can't even get the seal into the tube.
