noisy timing gears

Im pulling the top half of the engine to clean,check and replace things. With 72k on the clock, thinking about replacing the cam lifters and timing chain.

Whats everyones thoughts on straight timing gears, I know its not a hp adder, but Im thinking to be different and to give a lil different sound. Are they either a love or hate it type of item ?
Does anyone here have them in their current F-body?
