I believe the trans wiring internally is different, 93-94 and same 95 is unique to itself and 96-97 are the same. I'm not 100% but I think this is similar to somebody elses problem.

if it just "revs up" in overdrive, you probably have your 3-4 apply piston in the servo installed backwards.Originally posted by my1994z28 View PostI have the car on jack stands, while I have the car in gear(od)giving it gas rpms are 2500 and speedometer is at 50,it dont shift into od..just reves up.I think I am missing the plug that goes on the brake switch which controls the lockup. It would make sense, thats why code 84 keeps coming up on the scanner.I have to find that 2 wire connector..-Joel

not having a brake switch hooked up wont prevent lockup, you just wont be able to unlock the converter when you hit the brakes. That is not giving you a code.
If you dont have OD, then it is proably the servo issue or a slipping 3-4 clutch pack.
Everytime my car fries the 3-4 pack i can never get overdrive, the reason is, because the PCM will never see enough REAL speed to make the shift into OD.
and yes, if your wiring is jacked up your trans will be fubar in no time

.now I just have to figure out the wiring for the lock up.its a 2 wire hook up,does anyone know the wires I wouold use?Remember my car was a m6,I have the plug for it,the wires are pink and blue.

code 84 is output driver module...does that have anything to do with having the 3-4 piston in back asswards??
