Yeah, Ive seen that AI car on the net before. There numbers dont match up. 9.60 @ 140 in a 3400lb car with 519 rwhp. Sorry, no way. Simple math blows that one out of the water. Eric L

            There is a video?

Also does a dyno account for having a bad ass launch that does a wheel stand? I think not.

There you go like 700hp with no mods.

I dont care if hes John Force. 520 rwhp @ 3450 lb will NOT go 9.60s. Is it a conservative dyno, maybe, but why would they sell there own heads and cam short hp wise. HP numbers sell parts. Im not doubting that the car went 9s, I have eyes. Im doubting that it only made 520 rwhp. At that weight it would take closer to 650-675 at the wheels.

To answer the OP's question: The LT1 block, even when puched .060" over (which is considered by many to be the safe limit) will take anywhere from 1500+ HP. Obviously nitrous and extreme boost levels will cause more wear.

Bottom Line: The LT1 block is very strong and the least of your worries. The stock crank is very strong too

As Ryan said I am new to the LT1 game but I have seen some pretty crazy numbers from a stock LT1 block. I mean if you are worried about the 2 bolt main (which holds crazy numbers) you can get a Corvette block that has 4 bolt mains or do a 4 bolt main conversion, which I don't think is necessary.

My buddy with a stock bolt ons gt mustang ran a 12.9 and hes only pushing 260hp on the dyno...i know certain lt1 f-body pushing 370hp that ran a 12.9....so i agree totally with what Ryan is saying

                          Taner's 8 second LT1 T-56 has NEVER been on a dyno

Race cars dont chassis dyno well. Soft sidewall tires, stiff race trannys, sloppy converters, locked diffs, and heavy duty drivetrain parts kill rwhp. With that being said, did the car put down 530 rwhp, im sure it did. Chassis dynos "can" be accurate for 300-400 rwhp cars. But when you get into race cars and stuff, you need to start talking engine dynos. Therefore taking the parasitic loss out of the equasion. MPH=HP, always has always will. And in order for a 3450 car to run 140mph in the quarter, it would have to make over 750 horsepower at the flywheel. So do you mean to tell me that a factory casting LT1 head and intake made close to 800 hp at the flywheel NA. Say it out loud, it sounds retarded. MPH = HP You cant get around that. Are equasions and engine dynos accurate, not always, we all know that. But when 70 or 80 percent of combonations fit into an equasion, you have to raise an eyebrow and question when one is THAT far out of the norm such as Rick Adairs car. Eric L

that car is not on a factory casting. It is using a SR now I believe, and the Ai 215cc trickflows. That car has a long story to it
