sounds like the centerforce is the clutch for me then! Like i said i can deal with a personality, not chatter.

I just read on a forum someone said Centerforce has shifting problems above 5600 rpm. Just food for thought.

So far everything I can find said Spec is probably the best you're gonna get but the Spec 3 is a little to grabby when just doing DD and a spec 2 is better unless you plan on making some good power.

There is a lot of stuff saying centerforce won't shift past 5K by googling centerforce shift problems.

I do not find the spec 3 too grabby at all. I think its just right. The only thing i have to concentrate on is keeping it from chattering! But even if you let it chatter its as easy to drive as any other clutch.

interesting about that high RPM issue, ryan had a lot of problems shifting his at the track and I know it wasnt a driver issue.

I guess from my reading the Centerforce clutches use weighs to engage and when when you go so high in RPM well duh centrifugal force takes over.

Everyone also says break in period is 500 miles and you should at least resurface the flywheel but it is better to get a new flywheel and you shouldn't get chatter.

Someone said the Spec people said the 3 is prone to chatter if not broken in right. Guy says his will barely chatter if he leaves off idle he gives it a little more gas it won't chatter.

                  Major difference between a LT1 clutch and LS1 clutch is a LT1 is a push and a LS1 is a pull clutch.

it handles side-steps and no-lift-shifts like a dream

and that right there is the biggest bunch of b-a-loney i always hear about the spec 3. I babied it for 1200 miles and it was the same as the first mile out of the driveway. At that point it was chattering VERY bad and I was not happy at all so I took the car out with 4 people in it and launched it from 3 grand, powershifted up to 4th, slammed on the brakes, stopped, and repeated the process. The next day it had less than half the chatter, which was still a LOT. Even people that are used to performance clutches look at me like "what the hell is happening?" when they ride in my car.

I rode the dog snot out of mine at metro cruise. I seriously idled on and off the clutch ALL DAY. And at the end of the day all I had was a VERY SMALL ammount of chatter. I jumped on the highway on the way home, it cooled down, and stoped a few exits later. Eric L

yeah thats weird to hear about the centerforce issues. I was having a hard time getting the car to go into 4th at about 7k rpm last year. It had to be the clutch.

I would pass on that one Joel

I ask again, why not a 2 or a 2+? Neither of them are a puck design, and both are rated to hold your power.

lol. most of them say they could hold my power level. they dont take into account the 6200rpm launches at 4000lbs though

Is it true that a twin disk is heavier and eats some power? My shifting definitely puts a clutch through its paces but its not like Im out doing rev limiter launches on wrinkle walls...
